Prequelle

Ghost

By: Alex Horner & John Cantley

Ghost unveils their “new” frontman on their latest record which takes the band an awkward new direction. Plagued by notoriety Tobias Ford chaperones the nameless ghouls to a twisted land of power ballads and overbearing keyboards. Despite his unmasking, Ford has elevated the theatrics to a place of cringe-laced awe. Prequelle is certainly the most radio-friendly release from Ghost but at the cost of the underground charm the band had in great supply. The songs seem to blend together on this record, “Witch Image” being the only track with any real gravity.
